Overview

Zurich is seeking an Occupational Accident Claims Specialist I to handle disability and medical accident claims within the Life, Accident, and Health Business Unit. The Life, Accident, and Health program provides insurance coverage to help financially protect on-the-job and independent contractors. As part of the Claims team, you will manage a claims caseload of low to moderate complexity, interpret policy coverages, and analyze medical time lost benefits, while resolving claims within set authority limits. You will build internal and external partnerships with customers, brokers, and vendors, and manage all communications throughout the life of your claims. Zurich North America Claims emphasizes work-life balance with a hybrid work model that provides flexibility to work from your location while enabling in-person connections when meaningful. Occasional in-office attendance may be required. The candidate should be able to report to one of the following North American Claims offices: Parsippany, NJ; Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; Schaumburg, IL; or Omaha, NE. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling area AND Must obtain and maintain the required adjuster license Microsoft Office experience Preferred Qualifications

Experience handling occupational accident claims with lost time and medical coverage Ability to read policies and determine coverage Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance legal and regulatory environment Knowledge of claims handling or insurance legal statutes and procedures Experience investigating claims Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience collaborating across work groups Organizational and time management skills Analytical skills Negotiation skills Customer service experience Compensation and Benefits

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including location, role, skill set, and experience. Zurich commits to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role in compliance with local laws. For more information about Total Rewards, please click here. The compensation range for this position is $48,600.00 - $79,500.00, with a short-term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%. As an insurance company, Zurich is subject to 18 U.S. Code 1033.
