Position Summary

Athens Administrators is seeking a Claims Supervisor to support our Workers Compensation office in Las Vegas, Nevada. The role offers a hybrid schedule of four days remote from the home office and one day on‑site (Wednesday). The position is Monday‑Friday 37.5 hours with a flexible schedule and remote work is possible if technical requirements are met. Primary Responsibilities

Lead and collaborate with Athens management to achieve company initiatives and performance goals. Review claim files for accuracy, authorize payments and reserve increases above examiner authority, and run detailed reports. Author settlement releases, negotiate third‑party settlements, and draft litigation strategies with attorneys and client senior management. Maintain consistent and accurate claims coding, quality file handling, resolution and unit closing goals. Communicate timely information to clients, attorneys, doctors, investigators and injured workers. Employee Management

Plan, organize and delegate workloads to achieve optimal results and meet time commitments. Supervise daily activities, monitor progress, enforce policies and resolve any issues or conflicts. Coach staff through training, performance reviews, goal setting, feedback, and development opportunities. Participate in interview and onboarding processes and lead organized staff unit meetings. Partner with Human Resources to manage employee relations and performance issues. Client Management

Maintain client relationships through regular service calls, proactive problem solving and attendance at client meetings. Document client meeting notes in appropriate shared location and ensure notes are concise and well‑written. Coordinate and perform training for client‑facing staff and lead staff unit meetings. Author release of payment and settlement, make daily claims decisions, review claim files for accuracy, run reports and approve payments and reserve increases above examiner authority. Work collaboratively with Athens Administrators, client senior management and attorneys to draft settlements and assist with litigation strategies. Supervisory and Fiscal Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision for 6‑10 employees, typically senior claims examiners, future medical examiners, claims examiners and trainee examiners. Review and approve direct report’s monthly expense reports, control expenses, and seek hidden cost improvements. Ensure timely and accurate review and approval of timecards for payroll processing days. Essential Position Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; AA/AS or BA/BS preferred. Must reside in Nevada and be legally capable of administering Nevada workers’ compensation claims. Solid knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, policies and procedures. 3+ years of recent workers’ compensation claims handling experience at a high level. 5+ years experience in a Workers’ Compensation claims lead or supervisor position preferred and at least 2 years claims supervisory experience required. Proficiency in determining case value and negotiating settlements; prior TPA experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to research and resolve problems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, claims program experience preferred. Apply With Us
