Summary
The Sr. NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting and interpreting non-destructive tests on various aircraft components and structures using advanced NDT methods. This individual must hold a Level 3 NDT certification. The position ensures the integrity and quality of parts while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role supports daily NDT operations and drives NDT quality compliance. Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform and interpret non-destructive tests on aerospace components using various NDT techniques, including preparation of parts before or after testing according to work instructions. Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of findings, complying with customer, company, and regulatory requirements. Set up, calibrate NDT equipment, and conduct tests following approved procedures and specifications. Interpret and evaluate test results against standards, codes, and specifications, providing recommendations based on findings. Develop and write NDT procedures aligned with company standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Conduct internal reviews to ensure NDT operations meet quality and compliance standards. Review work orders, manuals, and blueprints to determine appropriate NDT methods and inspection criteria. Provide technical guidance and training to Level 1 and Level 2 NDT Inspectors, fostering skills development and quality performance. Maintain NDT equipment and perform system performance checks per standards. Support daily NDT operations, troubleshoot issues, and assist workflow management to maintain efficiency. Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and company safety, quality, and environmental policies. Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years of related experience in lieu of degree. 4 years of NDT experience. Current Level 3 NDT certification(s) per NAS 410 or equivalent, or eligibility. Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, NAS 410, and familiarity with FAA and EASA regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems. Preferred Requirements
6 years of relevant NDT experience in aerospace. FAA Repairman or Inspector Authorization (IA). Experience in writing and implementing NDT procedures. Additional certifications in other NDT methods. Other
