Responsibilities
As a Safety Coordinator, your key responsibility will be to manage and enforce Wilhelm's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage.
Enforce job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Wilhelm's safety program to ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site, aiming for an accident/incident free project.
Education
Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meeting" and document content and attendance.
Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
Advise project staff on site specific safety issues and guidelines.
Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
Collaborate with foremen on means/methods for performing high-risk work (excavations, fall protection, heavy equipment, etc.).
Monitor Lockout/Tagout procedures and pipe testing procedures.
Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Wilhelm company policies and owner/contractual requirements.
Conduct daily and/or weekly site inspections as appropriate or specified by the job.
Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
Investigate, corroborate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
Complete site walks at least 3 - 4 times per day.

What It Takes
Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards.
OSHA 30 Certification
5-10 years safety experience in construction or similar industry.
MUST have 3+ years in Industrial, Cast-In-Place, and Commercial construction - REQUIRED
MUST want to be in the field, not behind a desk
Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows
