Spanish Analytical Linguist - Nationwide Location: Nationwide | Security Clearance: Public Trust | Schedule: Part-time, essential services; day and/or night shifts, weekends and holidays. Non-exempt; overtime eligible. Hourly: $34-$40/hr. Contingent upon award. About KACE

Our Linguists perform real-time transcriptions from Spanish to English, analyze colloquialisms and slang, extract pertinent information, and communicate findings to law enforcement agents. They transcribe source documents and recordings from storage media (audio cassettes, videocassettes, or digital media). Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Listen to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded Spanish communications; provide verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as required by the project. Relay pertinent information to the client when supporting live projects. Contribute to a master-list of slang words and codes used by specific groups for the project duration. Maintain a voice library for the project duration. Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents as assigned by supervisor. Produce court-ready transcriptions of calls, chats, and documents following required formats. Use reference tools created during the project. Transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day. Operate government-provided software equipment (e.g., JSI Voice Box, Pen-Link, Comverse) at the assigned site. Maintain a daily productivity log. Perform related duties within the scope of practice as assigned. Minimum Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years’ professional experience OR Associate degree with five (5) years’ professional experience OR High School Diploma with seven (7) years’ experience. Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in Spanish. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a government background investigation; may need to access classified information. Knowledge of Spanish colloquial terms and expressions; familiarity with SMS language, social media, and web chat. Excellent verbal and written skills in Spanish, with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to meet contract requirement of a Language Assessment score (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing) of 3 or better in English and Spanish. Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with management and law enforcement personnel. Strong time management, prioritization, and teamwork abilities; able to meet stringent deadlines. Ability to take technical direction and feedback; typing speed of 45 words per minute. Clearance & Background
Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance. Favorable credit check for cleared positions. Successful background investigation and drug screening. U.S. citizenship; must have lived in the U.S. for the past 3 of the last 5 years, consecutively. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Standing, walking, mobility to attend meetings as needed. Low to moderate level of climbing, stooping, kneeling (0%–10%). Finger dexterity to write, type, and use a telephone system (100%). Sitting for prolonged periods while monitoring live or taped calls; may be restricted when handling live monitoring and translation. Additional Information
