Overview
Job Title: Regional Sales Manager - West Coast
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Covering Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Orange County, Sacramento, Arizona, and Seattle)
Reports to: Director of Sales
Direct Reports: 2 Area Sales Managers overseeing a total of 35 staff in the region
Compensation: Base salary $100,000–$120,000 (based on experience) plus up to 35% in commissions
Position Overview: The Regional Sales Manager will oversee sales operations and team performance across a dynamic West Coast region, driving revenue growth and customer base expansion in the wireless or prepaid industry. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on field management to achieve business objectives and foster a motivated team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee direct distribution staff activities across the region to meet sales targets and business plans.
Set strategic direction to grow customer base and revenue across all market segments.
Optimize sales team productivity, manage costs, and execute sales objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers through regular market visits to gather feedback on products and services.
Foster a collaborative, high-energy team environment and ensure open communication with team members.
Leverage company resources (sales, marketing, pricing) to drive results and enhance brand presence.
Monitor and address team performance, ensuring quotas and deadlines are met.
Stay informed on wireless product features, market trends, and competitors.
Identify and act on opportunities to improve business performance proactively.
Evaluate and develop team members based on their strengths and areas for improvement.
Manage regional branding initiatives to strengthen market presence.
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of profit and loss statements.
Proven problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
Exceptional team management and leadership skills.
Expertise in business development and achieving sales targets.
Cross-functional knowledge of sales, marketing, and distribution processes.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
10+ years of experience in a managerial sales role, ideally in telecom, retail, direct distribution, FMCG, or prepaid wireless industries.
Proven experience in field management overseeing a team of sales representatives.
Prior accountability for the profitability of a region or area.
Business administration or marketing degree is a plus.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
