Job Summary
Research Associate will conduct applied criminal justice research in the Center for Public Safety Initiatives. The role involves collecting data through quantitative and qualitative methods, creating working papers for broad audiences, attending trainings and meetings, and reporting status of research activities. Work can be conducted on and off campus, at community meetings or local organizations, and remote work is possible depending on the research project.
Responsibilities
Conduct applied research in a collaborative criminal justice environment.
Collect data using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
Analyze data and produce deliverables such as working papers.
Attend trainings, meetings, and report research status.
Schedule, organize, and report on research activity status.
Work on and off campus at community meetings or local organizations.
Required Qualifications
1 year of experience performing essential job responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Social Science, or related discipline.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self‑motivation, discipline, and the ability to work independently and solve problems.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic SPSS, R, and/or Excel experience.
Knowledge of the criminal justice field.
Volunteer or class experience in criminal justice/CPSI.
