Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions or concerns promptly, effectively, and courteously; inform guests of promotions; recommend items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction; and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including providing receipts and ensuring high-quality guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards loyalty). Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance and provide feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed to align with company expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates, manage breaks, and supervise staffing to maintain optimal guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support the store team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize products for accurate representation on the floor. Reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; handle closeout paperwork and banking procedures. Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report findings to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Adhere to opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and in a team to complete tasks timely. Meet performance expectations in attendance, appearance, safety, and respect in the workplace. Operate the POS system and basic math skills; complete paperwork properly. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Problem-solving, reliability, trustworthiness, and good judgment. Able to work alone for extended periods; stand/move around the store up to 12 hours per day.
