LEP Tutor role at University of Denver. The Learning Effectiveness Program (LEP) seeks tutors for the 2025-2026 academic year. Tutors support students in building confidence, independence, and academic skills in a one-on-one setting. Tutoring is distinct from teaching, and applicants should understand the difference. Hours are based on student needs during Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, with additional hours approved by the LEP Tutoring Coordinator. All LEP Tutors report to the LEP Tutoring Coordinator and are assigned a Lead Tutor as a mentor. The LEP serves neurodiverse learners and new tutors must complete online orientation and initial CRLA certification hours by the end of the quarter or within a 10-week timeframe. The program participates in CRLA Level I and II Certification; tutors are expected to engage in required training activities to maintain certification status. Training activities include orientation, CRLA hours, supplemental trainings, and tutoring assessments. Essential Functions
Tutor one-on-one to support self-sufficiency and independent learning. Collaborate with LEP Academic Counselors to meet student learning needs. Maintain availability and subject information in Accudemia. Complete Tutoring Assessments within 48 hours and update appointment information within 24 hours. Help students clarify questions and apply academic tips and tools. Encourage critical thinking, new learning methods, and growth mindset. Maintain communication with Tutoring Coordinator/Lead Tutor; attend trainings and tutor meetings. Keep schedules up to date and notify of cancellations; perform additional tasks as needed. Adhere to LEP policies; potential removal for policy violations or excessive negative feedback. Complete initial trainer training and ensure active schedule in Accudemia by the end of the quarter or within 10 weeks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to tutor one-on-one and apply Universal Design for Learning principles with neurodiverse learners. Strong time management and proactive communication skills. Adapt tutoring behaviors to LEP needs. Required Qualifications
Student Tutors
Must be currently enrolled in DU classes; undergraduates must be Sophomore or higher. GPA of 3.0 or higher in the subject to be tutored; provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member. Unofficial transcript or equivalent subject-area experience; must be located in the Denver Metro area with in-person availability. Initial tutor training and active Accudemia schedule must be completed by Week 10 of the hire quarter. Professional Tutors
At least 1 year of demonstrated experience in the subjects to be tutored. Provide unofficial transcript or equivalent professional experience; Denver Metro in-person availability; initial training and Accudemia schedule by Week 10. Preferred Qualifications
Student Tutors
Graduate-level student; prior tutoring experience; experience with neurodiverse learners. Professional Tutors

This is a part-time, non-benefited position with flexible hours. Tutors are paid for actual tutoring time; hours depend on student requests. There are other paid activities (prep, admin, professional development). Maximums: up to 40 hours per week, 80 hours per 2-week pay period; LEP Tutors cannot exceed 1000 hours across all university jobs in 2026. New Tutor Orientation and CRLA Level 1 training must be completed before tutoring begins; active Accudemia schedule must be loaded by Week 10 of the hire quarter. Special Instructions
