Overview Plant Superintendent (Manufacturing Experience, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) – Winchester, KY

Location: Winchester, KY (Onsite). Job Function: Plant Superintendent. Date of Job Posting: 10-09-2025.

Responsibilities

Accountable for safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, cost performance, employee training and relations in a 24/7 plastics manufacturing facility.

Monitor production performance and implement processes, procedures, and methods to improve results in all key functional areas.

Implement and maintain best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for all production activities.

Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives (5S, safety, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, Lean manufacturing).

Coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.

Assist in preparation of the annual plant operating budget and strive to meet or exceed plant productivity and cost targets.

Hire, train, direct, and mentor staff; manage employee relations and development across a diverse workforce.

Develop subordinates through education, training, and teamwork; communicate problems and obstacles to the plant manager and leadership team.

Ensure safety programs are followed and environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) are complied with.

Support quality initiatives to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure quality checks and audits are completed.

Build and maintain productive employee relationships, provide coaching, and work with HR on employee concerns and disciplinary actions as needed.

Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (preferred: plastics major) with manufacturing experience.

Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.

Proven leadership track record and strong work ethic.

Public speaking and ability to train large groups of coworkers.

Above-average written and verbal communication skills in English.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including creating charts, graphs, SOPs, One Point Lessons, and presentations.

High integrity and ethical standards.

Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedule to support all shifts.

Salary & Benefits Salary: Excellent compensation with benefits + 401K + Quarterly Bonus + Relocation. DURATION: Full-Time - onsite position.
