Position

Accounting Manager for Advertising Agency

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company’s growth.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Manage the billing process including auditing charges, drafting and releasing invoices to clients, and reconciling client budgets.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Review and balance the General Ledger monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Process journal entries, including preparing and processing accrual and reversal entries.
  • Proficient in cost accounting.
  • Perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, client statements, and collections.
  • Manage Accounts Payable, vendor invoice auditing and entry, ACH, wire and check remittances.
  • Handle bank deposits and cash applications.
  • Manage corporate credit cards, statement reconciliations, entries, and schedule payments.
  • Request, collect, and manage vendor W-9 forms to ensure accurate tax documentation and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate 1099 records and oversee year-end preparation and submission of the 1096 form.
  • Process monthly sales tax filings.
  • Track fixed assets and construct depreciation schedules.
  • Maintain records through accurate filing of documents.
  • Work closely with other internal departments and vendors as needed.
  • Implement accounting software improvements and streamline financial workflows.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Zoho One (Books, CRM, Projects, Expense) is a plus, but a willingness to learn is valuable.
  • QuickBooks knowledge is required as we will be migrating from QuickBooks to Zoho.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to optimize Zoho integrations and ensure smooth operation across departments.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate all Accounting functions.
  • Experience in accrual and cash basis accounting.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality and in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both internally and externally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience performing similar duties.
  • Math and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Mac experience required.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, skilled in using Sheets and experienced in efficiently organizing and managing digital files.
