Position Description

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Vice President of Clinical Services will serve as an executive leadership team member, leading the mental health services division and overseeing clinic‑based and community mental health programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement the strategic vision, service offerings, and operations of the mental health department aligned with organizational objectives

Provide leadership and supervision to the Mental Health department ensuring clinical excellence

Work with the Executive Team to establish agency budget priorities and monitor program budget, including involvement in billing processes

Coordinate all clinical services to ensure clients receive appropriate treatments in accordance with licensing, accreditation, contractual agreements and agency policies

Provide direct supervision to Directors, delivering coaching, leadership development and guidance to those managing others

Ensure quality services for the department through professional development, clinical supervision, employee engagement and well‑being

Effectively communicate and coordinate across the agency’s mental health programs to maximize outcomes for clients, families and partners

Adjust program priorities or identify/expand new programs in consultation with the Chief Program Officer and Executive Leadership

Provide comprehensive and current knowledge of mental health research and trends to apply up‑to‑date clinical practices

Assist in the development and oversight of program grants and contracts to ensure successful implementation of services, coordination of services and achievement of program performance measures

Serve as a senior leader representing Project Harmony by attending functions, community forums and events that promote the organization’s work

Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families served without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation

Requirement Summary

Education : Graduate degree preferred in social work, counseling, public administration, psychology or related field.

Licensure : Licensed practitioner in social work, counseling, public administration, psychology or related field preferred, active in Nebraska.

Experience & Training :

5+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in non‑profit organizations or clinical program leadership

5+ years’ experience in child welfare or mental health related field

Experience in trauma‑informed practices and working with individuals exposed to trauma

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :

Knowledge of non‑profit administration, program development, research and utilization of clinical data, fiscal management and supervision of employees

Knowledge of systems related to provision of mental health services including insurance and legislative systems

Knowledge of trauma‑responsive practices and experience working with individuals exposed to trauma

Ability to build relationships and collaborate with co‑workers, key stakeholders and business partners

Demonstrated professionalism, confidence and ethical standards

Strong organizational and time‑management skills; strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills

Self‑starter; able to work independently and as part of a team

Support a team culture that welcomes change and leads with a growth mindset

Respect and maintain confidentiality

Additional Requirements :

Willingness to work flexible hours

Submittal of thorough criminal history background check

Access to a vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Position may involve some travel within the state
