Job Summary Transports patients from place of origin to appointments in a courteous and timely manner. The position requires a high commitment to service excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Pick up and return patients as per schedule.
Stay in contact with the office to report any change in schedule including patient cancellations.
Assist patients to get in and out of the vehicle.
Assist patients with wheelchair.
Ensure the safety of all passengers.
Work flexible shifts as required.
Deliveries, Holter monitors, and miscellaneous pick‑ups as needed.
Transport patients to hospitals or specialist offices.
Check and maintain the van daily, ensuring it is mechanically safe and clean.
Report any incident or accident to the supervisor and management immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Wear company uniform.
Utilize phone as routing system.
Any other duties as assigned by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Up to 1 year of driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred.
Clean driving record.
Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
Customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to transport members safely, timely, and efficiently.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and location.
Ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Basic mechanical skills to inspect vehicles daily.
Physical Requirements Ability to reach, lift, carry, and move objects. Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Travel Requirements Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics.
Tools & Equipment Used Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.
