The Clerical Supervisor III consists of two types of positions: Supervises, through one or more full or working subordinate supervisors, and has overall responsibility for two or more groups of subordinates that perform journey‑level clerical work (comparable to Office Assistant III). Serves as the immediate supervisor of a group of subordinates that perform senior‑level clerical work (comparable to Office Assistant IV). Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. General Clerical Experience:
Four and one‑half (4-1/2) years of responsible work experience, independently performing a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrating knowledge and competence in office practices, procedures, and the operation of office equipment and technologies. Experience must also demonstrate knowledge and competence in the use of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic; and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, write simply and directly, and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. Non‑Qualifying Experience:
Experience limited to simple and repetitious clerical work involving a short cycle of tasks and manual dexterity shall not be considered qualifying. Examples include wrapping and unwrapping articles, opening envelopes and folders, affixing tags and labels, rearranging or tidying office desks and equipment, and delivering, distributing, or collecting correspondence or parcels. Supervisory Aptitude:
Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude, demonstrated through successful completion of assignments with supervisory responsibilities, serving as a group or team leader, or similar work with supervisory potential; or through training courses in supervision with application of supervisory skills; or favorable appraisals indicating supervisory potential.
