About the Role Reports to: Director of Operations. This Café General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations within their café including hiring, training, scheduling, team leadership, inventory management, profit and loss, hospitality, and food safety. This individual must maintain the highest commitment to quality with a demonstrated collaborative approach. The Café General Manager is responsible for driving financial success through strong team leadership and active coaching. This role requires a minimum of 45 hours per work week in the café and is not remote.
What You’ll Do
Achieve all goals related to Sales, COGs, Labor, and Pace.
Meet all deadlines regarding inventory, invoice, payroll, and schedule submission.
Hold a standard of excellence for all food and beverages sold.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment for team members and guests, ensure all equipment is functioning and in working order, actively use resources to find solutions, and manage R&M budget.
Seek to continually expand knowledge in hospitality, food trends and specialty coffee.
Implement Ascension Coffee standards as directed by Brand Leadership.
Actively seek ways to drive sales growth at café level: improved service, clean merchandising, LSM/events.
Inspire passion and engagement across all teams.
Coachable: receive and implement feedback quickly.
Approachable: forge strong interpersonal connections with folks of all skill levels.
Impactful: communicate and convey concepts in a way the individual will understand and respond with engagement.
Culture: participate in an inclusive and quality focused culture, utilizing thoughtful communication as guidepost for fellow team members, customers, and consumers.
Qualifications
Specialty coffee experience is a plus.
Reliable transportation, able to travel to all locations.
Able to work nights and weekends.
Strong team building skills, clear communication.
Great organizational skills, problem solving ability, and intuitive resourcefulness.
High initiative and self-management skills, willing to take direction.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ~8 hours each workday.
