30-40% CMK Resources is partnering with a leading global commerce and franchise solutions company to hire a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations will report to the VP of Operations and Procurement and lead operational excellence with a primary focus on digital print production and operational optimization for franchisees running established, high‑performing businesses (typically $1M+ in annual revenue). This role is ideal for a seasoned print industry leader who understands the production floor, workflow efficiency, equipment utilization, and how to drive profitability and scalability in a franchise model. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor and field leader, traveling 30–40% of the time to visit centers, assess operations, and implement strategies that enhance efficiency, cost control, and productivity. As Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in integrating, scaling, and innovating digital printing operations, ensuring long‑term success and market leadership. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
Operational Leadership & Efficiency
Lead the development and implementation of digital print‑focused operational strategies across the franchise network. Assess production workflows, staffing models, and scheduling to identify opportunities for increased throughput, reduced waste, and improved margins. Partner with franchise owners to optimize digital print processes, equipment usage, and job management systems. Build and deploy best practices for centers generating $1M+ in revenue to help them scale efficiently and sustainably. Track and analyze KPIs around production costs, turnaround times, labor utilization, and profitability. Support the transition of centers toward greater sign, large‑format, and promotional product integration. Field Support & Center Engagement
Spend 30–40% of time traveling to centers to assess operations, coach owners and staff, and recommend improvements. Provide hands‑on guidance in digital production workflow, pricing strategy, vendor management, and estimating. Collaborate with center owners to identify barriers to growth and implement actionable solutions. Support franchise certification and operational audit processes to ensure compliance and brand consistency. Work closely with the Purchasing team to identify cost‑saving opportunities and ensure reliable sourcing of
digital printing materials
and consumables. Leverage vendor relationships to secure pricing advantages and streamline ordering processes. Evaluate equipment and technology investments to ensure ROI and alignment with operational goals. Mentor operations staff and field consultants to develop a digital print‑first mindset focused on efficiency and performance. Partner with cross‑functional leaders in marketing, training, and technology to drive operational innovation. Represent the operations function at leadership meetings, ensuring franchisee needs are central to strategic decisions. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership in
digital print production operations
or print franchise management (commercial printing, signage, or related industry). Proven track record of optimizing production workflows, increasing efficiency, and improving profitability in multi‑location or franchise settings. Hands‑on experience with digital, offset, large‑format, and finishing equipment; familiarity with print MIS and estimating systems. Strong understanding of vendor negotiation, supply chain management, and purchasing strategy in the print industry. Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and build trust with experienced business owners. Willingness to travel 30–40% of the time to support centers nationwide. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
