Base pay range $39,284.88/yr - $58,927.20/yr

Description The Kentucky Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is a multi-faceted agency that provides services and programs to enhance the self-sufficiency of families; improve safety and permanency for children and vulnerable adults; and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process.

The Division of Administration and Financial Management (DAFM) with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services is looking for an Administrative Specialist Senior that will work in the DAFM Benefits Management Branch. Duties will include completing intake of individuals under state guardianship, completing asset checks, contacting outside entities to obtain information regarding individuals under guardianship, inputting client information, maintaining tracking spreadsheets, and compiling information for court reports.

The position you are applying for has access to or use of federal tax information (FTI) or meets the statutory definition of front-line staff. Therefore, pursuant to IRS Publication 1075 and 900 KAR1:009 or KRS 194A.062 and 900 KAR 1:050, applicants for this position in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) shall submit to a fingerprint-based criminal background check by the Department of Kentucky State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Responsibilities

Input client information during intake for individuals under state guardianship.

Complete asset checks for individuals under state guardianship.

Communicate with the Social Security Administration, VA Administration, banks, and other entities to obtain information needed regarding individuals under state guardianship.

Maintain tracking spreadsheet for all information obtained for individuals under guardianship.

Compile information for court reports.

Maintain documentation in Kentucky’s Guardianship and Fiduciary Information System (KYGFIS).

Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Expectations

Must have skills to navigate Microsoft programs.

Knowledge of Social Security Benefits.

Great customer service and verbal and written communication skills.

Time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and work independently and as a team.

Knowledge of adult guardianship.

Minimum Requirements Education:

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Experience, Training, or Skills:

Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute Education for Experience:

Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute Experience for Education:

Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

None.

Working Conditions Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
