Human Resources Coordinator for Academic Affairs
University of South Carolina Upstate – Spartanburg, SC
The Human Resources Coordinator for Academic Affairs serves as a liaison for the USC Upstate Provost’s Office and with the USC Upstate Human Resources office, as well as the College Deans and Department Chairs, to ensure timely and accurate support for academic units at USC Upstate, in accordance with the Academic Affairs policies, Faculty Manual, Human Resources policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
Compensation Advertised Salary: $49,396; Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities
Interpret policies and procedures and communicate effectively to administration, staff, faculty, and students.
Plan and coordinate vital administrative functions.
Be pro‑active and meet deadlines.
Train others of various levels of experience.
Use Microsoft Office and Adobe applications at a high level.
Maintain thorough understanding of Academic Affairs operations and policies.
Apply human resources principles to an academic setting.
Exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.
Develop and cultivate positive relationships with human resources staff and other offices on campus and on the main campus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
2 or more years of job‑related experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
3 years of related experience in a higher education setting is strongly preferred.
Successful background check required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
Knowledge of Academic Affairs operations and policies.
Understanding of human resources principles in an academic setting.
