Job Title Human Resources Coordinator for Academic Affairs — University of South Carolina Upstate

Job Responsibilities The Human Resources Coordinator for Academic Affairs serves as a liaison for the USC Upstate Provost’s Office and with the USC Upstate Human Resources office, as well as the College Deans and Department Chairs, to ensure timely and accurate support for academic units at USC Upstate. This is in accordance with Academic Affairs policies, the Faculty Manual, Human Resources policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job-related field and 2 or more years of job-related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job-related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience in a higher education setting is strongly preferred.

Additional Comments A successful background check is required. Ability to interpret policies and procedures and communicate effectively to administration, staff, faculty, and students; ability to plan and coordinate vital administrative functions; ability to be pro-active and meet deadlines; ability to train others of various levels of experience; high level user of Microsoft Office and Adobe applications; thorough understanding of Academic Affairs operations and policies; broad understanding of human resources principles and how to apply them to an academic setting. Use discretion when dealing with confidential information; develop and cultivate positive and beneficial relationships with human resources staff and other offices on campus and on the main campus.
