Andaz Miami Beach is now recruiting a Director of Food and Beverage to join the hotel's team. The art‑deco building is a landmark in Mid‑Beach, featuring 287 guestrooms, including 34 suites and the only ocean‑view arrival experience in Miami Beach. Each suite has floor‑to‑ceiling windows, deep‑soaking tubs, and cozy reading nooks. Guests can also enjoy private outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Atlantic and the Miami skyline. The property offers a full‑service spa, a well‑equipped fitness center, a destination dining experience by José Andrés, two pools, and a Beach Club for Miami’s high‑profile guests. With 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, Andaz Miami Beach will serve as a gathering spot for those who celebrate music, art, and culture.

Position Summary The Director of Food and Beverage will ensure the successful execution of all operations in the food & beverage division—including Restaurants/Bars, Room Service, Banquets/Catering, Beach/Pool Operations—and manage staff. The role strives to continually improve guest and colleague satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. The Director leads the F&B team to follow standards and exceed property goals.

Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Develop a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with Andaz Miami Beach’s business strategy and lead its execution.

Ensure regular, on‑going communication throughout food & beverage, including pre‑meal briefings, staff meetings, and holiday preparation.

Work with direct reports to review business levels and address challenges or conflicts.

Review schedules to meet guest service and operational needs.

Set expectations and hold leadership accountable for financial profitability and service behaviors.

Provide feedback to colleagues based on observation of service behaviors as per Forbes Standards.

Forecast food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate purchases and maximize profitability.

Order and oversee the purchasing plan for china, glass, and flatware.

Review financial reports and statements to assess performance against budget and forecast, making key decisions to maximize profitability.

Encourage calculated risk‑taking to generate incremental revenue and superior service delivery.

Create an atmosphere in all food & beverage areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations.

Participate in managing departmental controllable expense to achieve or surpass budgeted goals.

Understand the impact of F&B operations on overall property financial goals.

Be responsible for the overall financial performance of the division, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Lead colleague engagement, development, coaching, training, and hiring.

Keep the team accountable and conduct coaching and counseling to reflect Hyatt’s and Forbes service standards.

Ensure consistency with departmental opening and closing procedures.

Manage vendor contracts (liquor distributors, food providers, Ecolab, etc.).

Maintain the F&B checkbook to ensure profitability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management or a related field (preferred).

Five (5) plus years’ experience in food & beverage within a luxury or lifestyle hotel.

Forbes Four or Five Star senior leadership experience.

Ability to establish and maintain exceptional guest experience based on Forbes Service Standards.

Knowledge of driving positive guest experience and achieving service metrics.

Resort experience is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Deep understanding of F&B division operations.

Strong grasp of Cost per Cover, Food and Liquor Costs.

Excellent understanding of the F&B P&L and ability to develop department head financial acumen.

Experience with F&B management systems including Medallia, POS, Envision, Birchstreet, and Micros.

Highly detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Proven leadership skills in accountability and recognition.

Strong leadership focused on cultivating relationships with internal and external guests.
