Tax In-Charge (Experienced Tax Senior) Location:

As a Tax In-Charge, you will handle a variety of complex tax-related tasks under the supervision of the tax management group. You will prepare and review complex tax returns, supervise less experienced team members, and participate in training programs. This role requires significant technical, client service, supervision, and administrative skills. Overtime and travel may be required for professional development or client assignments. Specific Responsibilities
Client Engagements: Act as a primary client contact, developing strong working relationships with client personnel. Tax Returns: Prepare complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, S-Corp, and not-for-profit returns; review less complex returns prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance. Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues during tax return preparation; perform technical research and suggest alternative actions in complex situations. IRS Notices: Analyze IRS notices, draft responses, and review staff responses for effectiveness. Projections And Estimates: Prepare tax projections and estimates to assist clients in planning; participate in client tax planning for opportunities. Staff Development and Supervision: Delegate work, supervise staff, review workpapers to maintain quality, and provide training and feedback. Time Budgets And Assignments: Manage time budgets and assignments; ensure work is completed on time and within budget. Engagement Management: Manage tax projects and client deliverables, monitor progress, and ensure work complies with standards; collaborate across Tax, Audit, and Consulting practices. Qualifications And Attributes
Accounting and Tax Experience: Understanding of accounting procedures, tax regulations, reconciliations, calculations, journal entries, and analysis. Effective Communication: Clear communication verbally and in writing with clients and team members. Research Skills: Proficiency in tax research tools and methods. Creativity and Problem-Solving: Creative thinking in ambiguous situations. Standards Application: Apply performance, efficiency, and quality standards within the tax department. Ownership: Take responsibility for assignments and monitor status relative to budget and deadlines. Continuous Learning Mentality: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Ethical and Professional: High integrity and confidentiality; adhere to regulations and firm policies. Business Acumen: Understand business operations and financial processes for strategic tax planning. Interpersonal Skills: Build client relationships and foster a collaborative team environment. Flexibility: Adapt quickly to changing circumstances or management styles. Education And Licenses
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or related major with strong accounting concentration; graduate-level tax coursework desirable. Licensing: 150 semester credits and CPA licensing requirements; Hawaii CPA licensure preferred. Licenses And Certifications: CPA license current or in progress; AICPA membership in good standing if licensed. Compensation
$75,000 to $95,000; final offer based on experience and market conditions. Benefits
