Job Summary
San Bernardino County is recruiting for Supervising Automated Systems Analyst II who will supervise technical staff and manage networked information systems, functions, business applications, and services. Duties include evaluating, modifying, implementing, and overseeing complex networked computer systems and distributing PCs and other devices. Additionally, incumbents will manage servers; manage line of business applications; oversee licensing, service agreements, inventory, security, and Help Desk tracking and support; determine departmental information technology (IT) needs, such as hardware requirements and capabilities; recommend resolutions for hardware, software, and network conflicts; prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs); manage departmental end‑user support; and manage information technology projects. This position serves as the first line of customer service and primary IT coordination with facilities and/or property management on county department moves/remodels. Conditions of Employment Pre‑Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job‑related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment. Candidates MUST meet both the Experience and Education requirements in order to qualify.
Experience Requirement Three (3) years of full‑time equivalent experience, within the last five (5) years, supporting and administering Microsoft Windows systems in a current Microsoft Active Directory network. Experience should include a minimum of two (2) years as a lead or supervisor over technical‑level IT staff. Experience may be concurrent.
Education Requirement Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, college‑level coursework from an accredited college/university in Information Technology OR Certification as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA A+, or Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA). Transcripts and/or certificates MUST be attached to the application. Education Substitution: One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education or certification.
