Project Management - Strategic Consultant – Quote-to-Cash Transformation Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven strategic consultant and project leader to spearhead the analysis, design, and implementation of an optimized Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) process for BTU’s Customer Service and Parts operations. This role will focus on business process transformation, stakeholder alignment, systems integration, and change management to drive operational excellence and revenue acceleration. Key Responsibilities
Quote-to-Cash Process Design & Optimization
Lead the comprehensive evaluation and redesign of the Q2C process to enhance efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and streamline revenue recognition.
Develop and implement standardized, scalable workflows across all Q2C stages, including:
CRM onboarding and lead-to-opportunity conversion (Salesforce)
Quote configuration and approval
Sales order processing and validation
Supply chain coordination and parts fulfillment
Billing, invoicing, and credit memo processing
Revenue recognition in alignment with finance policies
Conduct time-motion studies, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify process bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
Facilitate workshops and interviews with cross-functional leaders in Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to gather requirements and surface pain points.
Challenge legacy practices with data-driven insights and business rationale to promote standardized, future-ready solutions.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, fostering alignment and buy-in across global teams.
Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes.
System Integration & ERP Enablement
Align redesigned processes with Epicor ERP standard functionality, minimizing custom development.
Partner with IT and ERP administrators to configure, test, and deploy new workflows.
Assess upstream and downstream system impacts to ensure data integrity and seamless integration.
Provide guidance on Salesforce-Epicor integration and data mapping.
Documentation & Training
Develop comprehensive documentation of current and future state processes using tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
Create SOPs, process maps, and user guides tailored to various stakeholder groups.
Deliver training sessions and materials to support user adoption.
Contribute to the development of KPIs and dashboards to track post-implementation performance.
Automation & Reporting
Identify automation opportunities within the Q2C lifecycle, including approvals, order routing, billing triggers, and reporting.
Recommend and prototype dashboards to enhance visibility into order status, fulfillment, and revenue cycles.
Collaborate with IT and data teams to implement automation tools and reporting enhancements.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Define baseline metrics and success criteria for implemented solutions.
Monitor process performance and conduct root-cause analysis for any issues.
Recommend iterative improvements and future system enhancements.
Project Management & Delivery
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
Maintain status reports, risk logs, and escalation protocols.
Lead regular project reviews and steering committee updates.
Ensure timely and on-budget delivery of all project phases.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Proven experience as a Project Manager or Business Process Consultant with a focus on operational optimization.
In-depth knowledge of Quote-to-Cash processes within manufacturing or technical services environments.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM and Epicor ERP (strongly preferred).
Demonstrated success in leading business process transformations with measurable outcomes.
Strong documentation and process mapping skills.
Experience identifying and implementing automation and reporting solutions.
Strategic thinker with a strong bias for execution
Change leader with a track record of driving transformation
Technically adept and process-oriented
Collaborative communicator with cross-functional influence
Comfortable engaging both operational teams and executive leadership
Willing to challenge the status quo constructively and thoughtfully
