This position is for a Facilities Manager at Glacier Arena, which is operated by Spectate Group within the Nicholas Family of Companies.
Overview
The Facilities Manager is a leadership role responsible for ensuring that all physical aspects of the ice rink facility operate safely, efficiently, and at optimal performance. This role involves strategic planning, day-to-day operations, team supervision, and proactive maintenance of the ice surface, building systems, and customer-facing amenities. The manager will work closely with senior leadership, contractors, and program staff to maintain an exceptional guest experience and uphold high standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality. The facilities manager is also responsible for maintaining and boosting employee morale, generating cost savings, and ensuring that the rink complies with standard regulations. Qualifications
Strong knowledge of building systems, structure, interiors, exteriors, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines Excellent communication and organizational skills Responsibilities
Recruits, trains, and schedules team members Coordinates monthly staff meetings Ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment across all facilities Assists the Director of Facilities in developing and maintaining a capital improvement budget Leads the planning and execution of on-site capital improvement initiatives Schedules and coordinates required annual inspections, resolve any issues, and maintains up-to-date inspection reports and certificates Serves as the primary liaison with the facility’s municipality (e.g. police, fire, village inspections, and permitting) Assists in managing maintenance contracts in collaboration with the Director of Facilities Obtains, maintains, and organizes certificates of insurance from vendors Ensures cost-effective purchasing of supplies, parts, and vendor contracts Manages and maintains a work order system through the Computerized Maintenance Management Software Collaborates with the Director of Facilities and accounting team in developing the annual budget and monitors spending to align with approved allocations Implements and manages general and preventative maintenance programs for all facilities Directs and manages all aspects of facility infrastructure, including refrigeration and HVAC systems Serves as the primary point of contact for all tenants and future tenants Maintains and controls the facility’s technology infrastructure Participates in after-hours on-call coverage in coordination with the Manager of Facilities, Ice & Facilities Technician, and Rink Attendant, Team Lead Partners with the Manager of Operations to coordinate and supervise all tournament activities Coordinates crowd control and safety procedures for on and off-ice events Monitors and maintains surveillance systems to support safety and security protocols Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Seniority level
