Resource Management Unit Contract Specialist | Health Program Specialist I, JC-495934 Job Description And Duties

This position works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) in the RMU within CPR. The Health Program Specialist I independently performs a wide variety of the most complex, more difficult analytical assignments related to contracts, purchase orders (PO), service orders (SO), and invoicing. Note: To address urgent operational needs or conduct emergency-related response activities, the incumbent may, on occasion, be required to work outside core business hours, travel, and transport up to 25 lbs. Program evaluation : Measuring the level of success, effectiveness, or efficiency through development and utilization of tools such as assessments, performance metrics, or evaluation criteria. Policy analysis : Evaluating current and alternative options, forecasting outcomes, and providing recommendations to decision makers based on evidence and analysis. If you are new to California State Service, you must take and pass the examination for this classification to be eligible for hire. Current state employees without transfer or list eligibility must also complete and pass the examination for this classification to qualify for this position. This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and requires in-person reporting to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. Telework eligibility is at the department’s discretion and subject to change, in line with CDPH’s Telework Program. All teleworking employees must be California residents per Government Code 14200. Candidates residing outside California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must establish California residency prior to appointment and maintain it during employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the offer being rescinded. Business travel may be required; reimbursement follows regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office are the responsibility of the selected candidate. The headquarters office location is identified in the attached duty statement.
