Our client, an
industry-leading manufacturer in the Greater Chicago Area , is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Accountant
to join their growing team. This individual will play a key role in the Accounting/Finance department, overseeing daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will also take ownership of special projects and process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy across the organization. Responsibilities
Manage accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and payroll. Oversee inventory valuation, ensuring accurate recording of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to implement and monitor inventory management controls, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory. Prepare and present monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis against budget and prior year. Perform monthly account reviews and reconciliations to the balance sheet. Monitor cash flow, oversee collections/disbursements, and assist with capital expenditure budgets. Review, evaluate, and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures. Support annual independent audit processes and collaborate with external auditors. Contribute to special projects and continuous process improvement efforts. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred). 4–8 years of relevant experience in financial or public accounting. Strong background in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing/distribution environments. Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with NetSuite is a plus). Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Payroll processing and audit experience strongly preferred. Ability to travel occasionally (up to 2–3 times per quarter). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities with enthusiasm. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Details
