About the Role

We’re building a 6–10 minute playable vertical slice for Bunderkin, a whimsical, mystery-filled adventure game developed in Unreal Engine 5. As our

Narrative & Cutscene Systems Developer , you’ll take the lead on building out in-game storytelling features—like triggered dialogue, character-driven interactions, and cutscene sequencing. You’ll work closely with our narrative team, designers, and animators to bring scripted moments to life in a highly stylized and expressive 3D world.

Responsibilities

Build interactive

dialogue and cutscene systems

using Unreal Blueprints Implement

trigger volumes, story flags, and conditional interactions

across the vertical slice Work closely with writers and designers to

sequence cutscenes , camera moves, and blocking Sync systems with character animations, voice lines, and facial performances Develop lightweight tools or workflows that support rapid iteration of scripted events Coordinate with the design and environment team to ensure storytelling moments integrate seamlessly into gameplay

Ideal Skills & Experience

Proven experience with

Unreal Engine 5

and

Blueprint scripting Experience implementing in-game cutscenes, dialogue events, or scripted sequences Understanding of narrative-driven gameplay structure Comfort working with animation timing, cinematics, and camera systems Excellent communicator and collaborator across disciplines Bonus: Familiarity with tools like Sequencer ,

Dialogue Managers , or external story scripting tools

Passion for story-rich adventure games Inspired by animated storytelling and stylized game worlds Prior experience on a vertical slice or narrative-focused demo
