NURSING SUPERVISOR (8A3-Oncology Acute Care) at Michigan Medicine Overview
Provides professional nursing leadership and administrative direction for 8A3 Oncology Acute Care. Participates as a member of leadership teams to provide and continually improve health care services and to support the mission and goals of Michigan Nursing Services, and the Health System. This position reports directly to the Clinical Nursing Director. Responsibilities
To assist the department Clinical Nursing Director in planning, coordinating, leading, and managing clinical and administrative operations. To assist the department Clinical Nursing Director in providing leadership in the practice of nursing, emphasizing safety, quality, customer service, education and research. To assist the department Clinical Nursing Director in coordinating between management and patient care activities consistent with the University of Michigan Hospital and Health System mission and goal statements. To assist in managing budgets, payroll, commodities, staffing/scheduling, hiring and staff reviews. The Clinical Nursing Supervisor will participate in new program development and implementation; plan, organize and evaluate patient care standards guidelines and educational activities; and monitor and implement the continuous quality improvement programs. Required Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan. Applicant must meet one of the following: Bachelors of Science in Nursing OR Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing. Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse Minimum two (2) years (within the last five years) RN experience in Medical/Surgical Nurse Leadership certification or completion within two (2) years of accepting this position or when eligible to certify, whichever comes first. Certification is expected to be maintained while in this leadership role. Examples include Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or Nurse Executive (NE-BC). Certifications must be recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Desired Qualifications
Master of Science Nursing Previous supervisory or leadership experience (i.e. committee chairs, program leads) Oncology experience, including heme/onc Chemotherapy experience OCN Knowledge of the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers policies and practices Work Schedule
Hours/Week: 40 hours Days/Shift/Hours: Evening shift; start @ 12 noon - Requires flexibility to meet the needs of the unit Location: University Hospital-8A3 Oncology Acute Care Additional Information
