The Department of Language and Literature at NCCU engages students in languages, cultures, literatures, linguistics, and writing. We foster analytical and creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and communication strategies to prepare students for civic and professional life. The department teaches GEC courses in English, Foreign Languages, Humanities, and Philosophy and houses degree programs in English, Foreign Languages, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Primary Purpose of Position

Teach General Education Courses in Arts & Humanities. Hold 4-8 office hours per week. Participate in Humanities Faculty Development Sessions. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The position requires emphasis on classroom management, the ability to teach classes of approximately 45 students, and participation in department meetings. Computer knowledge and willingness to participate in faculty development is essential. Use of technological platforms such as Canvas is required. Must be willing to communicate with students as necessary and expected. Minimum Education/Experience

The applicant must hold a M.A. degree minimum. 18 hours in English, African-American Studies, or a related Humanities discipline. Licenses or Certification
