Base pay range $25.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Job Summary The
Pump Mechanic
is on the 1st Shift and is responsible for assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of rotating type equipment, mainly horizontal and vertical pumps. The Pump Mechanic will operate required tools for the disassembly and assembly of rotating equipment and use various M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.) for inspection. An overhead crane is used in our shop.
Key Tasks
Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild large pumps of all types
Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and construct foundations for pump assembly and disassembly
Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools
Utilize all M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Characteristics (KSAOs)
Competency with hand tools (wrenches, impact guns), overhead crane operation, forklift operation; ability to use a variety of power and hand tools
Ability to use an overhead crane
Ability to read and comprehend inspection tools
Strong oral and written expression and comprehension
Manual dexterity and precision
Critical thinking and deductive reasoning
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Physical Environment The job is performed in an industrial setting with large machinery, overhead cranes, trucks, and forklifts. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The role may require sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and moving about the facility.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent
7+ years of experience as a pump mechanic or in a similar role involving disassembly, inspection, and assembly of large pumps and rotating equipment
Technology, Tools, & Machinery

Micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tooling
