Microsoft’s Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware. The CSCP organization enables the hardware infrastructure underlying Microsoft’s growth, including AI, and delivers core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services and Azure platform. Lead planners in different resource types to develop a capacity plan that meets customer needs, while maintaining compliance with supply and execution policies, throughput capacities, and contractual requirements. Provide a clear forecast and prioritized signal to the end-to-end execution teams. Own the relationship with the supply chain and execution team. Set flexibility and throughput targets, while understanding and incorporating their capabilities and constraints. Optimize the plan for availability, revenue, and cost. Partner with engineering-specific planners, supply chain, finance, data center operations, cloud server hardware, S&OP and networking teams to ensure all functions align with common goals. Envision and drive core measures as outputs from the group, as well as key input measures from other teams. Apply advanced analytics concepts toward rich insights and key financial and strategic decisions. Develop a prioritization framework across strategic projects, customer needs, risks, and capacities and address cost and other tradeoffs. Analyze and identify gaps in the current midterm planning process. Drive process improvements and transformations with stakeholder alignment. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience. 3+ years' experience with cross functional coordination, including experience partnering with data scientists, developers, and program managers to drive continual improvement 3+ years of Supply Chain Expertise: Experience in planning, forecasting, designing or analyzing supply chain challenges Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years' experience with cross functional coordination, including experience partnering with data scientists, developers, and program managers to drive continual improvement Leadership: You need to be an expert at leading cross-functional teams on complex projects with many variables. Generating clarity: This is one of the most important aspects of what we do. Our job is to align everyone on the same plan and keep them there. This requires constant communication and diligence to squash ambiguity. Power BI, Metrics and Analytics: Identify themes and learnings from data. Define key metrics that drive decision making. Results: A doer who can span from strategic thinking to execution, ensuring capacity availability at the right cost with minimal surprises. Communications and Influencing: Build relationships and influence across executives and cross-functional teams; lead meetings and build rapport in 1:1 conversations. Collaboration: Excellent collaboration and partnering skills; raise tough questions and negotiate win/win solutions. Significant analytical depth with experience in SQL; advanced Excel modeling; statistical toolkits (R, Minitab, SAS); data-lakes; Kusto; PowerBI; and experience visualizing data for executive audiences. Demonstrated experience designing algorithms, OKRs, and models in a supply chain setting. Background working with complex enterprise data sets; understanding of statistics and modeling approaches. Proven ability to build successful partnerships across diverse disciplines. Technical fluency including basic understanding of Cloud concepts: large-scale platforms, distributed services, hardware, and data centers.
