Overview

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and coordinate review efforts for verification and validation work related work efforts in the Electrical Engineering discipline.
Review design review comments submitted by junior engineers and advise decision makers on considerations for high impact and critical design review decisions.
Coordinate and lead review and adjudication of system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW),
Engineering Changes (EC’s). Lead effort to evaluate new or modified electronics on overall system performance.
Extensive knowledge of U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture.
Extensive Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations
Provide mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineer, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering or related field
Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
15 years’ documented experience working in one of the following specialized fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation or distribution systems
Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. – USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
