EY Private Tax is a growing practice focusing on privately held companies, from family-owned to private equity owned. You’ll work on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects and have opportunities to progress to manager with strong training and mentorship. Your Key Responsibilities
Support managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning, and interacting directly with clients. Focus on corporate returns and provision work, with opportunities to work on flow-through entities (partnerships). Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. corporations and some partnerships, including foreign reporting requirements for cross-border tax compliance. Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers, Senior Managers, Managing Directors and Partners. Liaise and develop relationships with other service lines and subject matter professionals. Build effective long-term client relationships and tailor services to client needs. Communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients. Maintain and share up-to-date technical knowledge and best practices. Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills and Attributes for Success
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, with tax, business or financial planning experience. Eligibility for the CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Prior experience with ASC 740 tax provisions. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 3 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. A commitment to continuing learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis. Willingness to travel as needed and experience working in a balanced hybrid environment. What We Look For

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $82,000 to $135,200 (US). Higher ranges apply in NYC Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento). Hybrid work model with most client-serving roles expected to work in-person 40-60% of the time.
