Systems Administrator Specialist - Windows The University of Georgia is seeking a Systems Administrator Specialist - Windows. Posting details: Posting Number S14261P. Department: EITS-Systems Engineering. Location: Athens area. This role focuses on supporting Windows Server environments (2016 and newer) within the University of Georgia Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS). Responsibilities
Administration of services and server infrastructure utilized by the entire UGA community, including setup, configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual server hardware. Installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting of Windows Server operating systems and hosted applications. Monitoring availability and performance of servers and services. Serving as first-contact for after-hours emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution on a weekly-rotating schedule with other team members. Development and maintenance of written documentation for setup, operation, and troubleshooting of high-profile, production-level services and servers. Performing research and development activities to achieve goals such as service deployment and improvement, system architecture changes, and cloud integration opportunities. Engaging in the Continual Service Improvement process to assess services and identify opportunities for service enhancements. Working as an experienced member of a supervised team. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience Position Information
Classification Title: Systems Administrator II (FLSA Exempt) FTE: 1.0 Work Schedule: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday; Occasional after-hours as needed. Location: Athens Area Other Details
