Overview

Financial Systems Assistant Manager at Teachers College, Columbia University. The Office of the Controller seeks a subject matter expert and liaison between Finance, Accounting and Budget departments and the TCIT office for multiple Financial Information Systems (FIS). The Assistant Manager will work under the Financial Systems Manager to translate business processes into technical requirements and solutions, support FIS operations, and supervise the Financial Systems Analyst. Responsibilities

Financial Systems Customer Support: maintain and administer the College’s FIS, including the Disbursement functions, Ellucian Banner and related third-party systems; ensure system reliability and security; manage user acceptance testing for patches and upgrades; provide end user training; help develop and improve customer service standards. Financial Systems Operations: create and maintain technical system requirements, project planning, and documentation for Disbursement systems; identify and recommend process improvements; support monthly/year-end closings, tax regulatory reporting, audits, and ad hoc reporting; maintain the Controller’s area website. Employee Management: supervise and delegate tasks to the Financial Systems Analyst; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or related business field; 4-5 years of relevant experience; strong functional understanding of finance and accounting operations and systems (GL, HR/Payroll, A/P, Budgeting, Purchasing, A/R); knowledge of SQL and relational databases; strong desktop software and troubleshooting skills. Preferred: Experience with Banner (Ellucian); experience managing and supervising staff. Salary and Benefits
