Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship. Interpret and administer assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and outcomes. Integrate technology effectively to enrich the learning experience. Act as an ambassador for the program and TSTC; participate in related tours and recruitment when appropriate. Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction, develop course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes with varied instructional techniques. Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, ensure a safe instructional environment, and support opportunities for student evaluation. Advise students with timely, accurate information; collaborate with the Office of Student Success to support tutoring and retention initiatives. Demonstrate TSTC core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in interactions with stakeholders. Engage in teamwork and provide flexible availability, including potential evening, weekend, or summer assignments. Other Duties As Assigned
Teaching & Learning: Deliver instruction and tailor methods to diverse learning styles. Mentorship & Coaching: Provide personalized guidance and foster open communication. Assessment & Feedback: Create and utilize assessments to guide learning and improve teaching strategies. Technology Integration: Use technology to enhance learning experiences. Required Skills, Knowledge, And Certifications Or Licenses
Meet with students at scheduled times to facilitate learning and success. Knowledge of collaborative software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom). Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and online instruction pedagogy. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and be punctual for meetings, appointments, training, etc. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Certifications Or Licenses
Experience with online instruction. Experience with competency-based education. Experience with non-traditional F2F teaching methods. Experience with Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, and Workday. Adaptable to new teaching and learning styles. Three years of teaching in the discipline preferred. Education And Experience
Doctorate or master’s degree in English or a master’s degree with a concentration in English (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in English). Notes
