Overview

Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship. Interpret and administer assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences. Act as an ambassador for the program and TSTC. Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction; develop course syllabi and instructional plans; organize daily classes using varied techniques. Fulfill assigned schedule; maintain accurate student records; ensure a safe instructional environment and appropriate evaluation opportunities. Provide student advisement and collaborate with the Office of Student Success to inform students about tutoring and retention programs. Participate in recruitment-related activities and assist in department/program planning for recruitment. Demonstrate teamwork and flexible service orientation toward students, parents, employers, and the community; maintain availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments as appropriate. Contribute to program delivery through Teaching & Learning, Mentorship & Coaching, Assessment & Feedback, and Technology Integration. Required Skills, Knowledge, And Certifications Or Licenses
Meet with students at scheduled times to facilitate learning and success. Knowledge of collaborative software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom). Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and online instruction pedagogy. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and be punctual for meetings, appointments, training, etc. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Certifications Or Licenses
Experience with online instruction. Experience with competency-based education. Experience with non-traditional F2F teaching methods. Experience with Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, Workday. Adaptable to new teaching and learning styles. Three years of teaching in the discipline. Education And Experience
Doctorate or master’s degree in English, or a master’s degree with a concentration in English (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English). Notes
