U.S. Bank . This position supervises day-to-day activities related to loan origination for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators. It ensures documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner, and helps meet annual loan origination goals. The role also focuses on establishing referral source relationships, participating in mortgage banking and real estate associations, and promoting customer relationships and additional product sales within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other lines. The position is remote in description but may require on-site work at a U.S. Bank location for at least three days per week for candidates located near locations. It may require 2 or more hours of driving per week.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day loan origination activities for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators. Ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources. Meet annual loan volume origination goals established by upper management. Establish referral source relationships from real estate brokers, builders, and other external sources to maintain a steady loan volume. Participate in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations; maintain knowledge of mortgage industry issues. Develop collaborative partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other business lines to promote customer relationships and additional product sales. Interview and recruit new talent and engage in employee development and retention initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two or more years of mortgage sales experience Preferred Skills/Experience Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors Familiar with local, state, and national laws (e.g., Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, etc.) Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to analyze financial information Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet applicable requirements of working outside the regular place of business Established referral base within the assigned market preferred 2 years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results

Licensing and Compliance

This role requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act and Regulation Z. The registration process includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet any NMLS requirements may result in the rescission of an offer or termination of employment.
