— Full-Time 184 days/6.5 hours per day. Responsibilities
Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center-based settings. Duties vary by age and level of disability and may include: managing behavior (redirecting, calming or removing a disruptive student from the classroom); monitoring and recording student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.); managing physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.). Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Care Assistant certification required to be completed within 30 days of start date. Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or obtained an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam. Documentation will be required. Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills. Ability/desire to work with technology and computers. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to supervise students. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions and people functions, including toileting, feeding and self-care procedures, implementing behavioral management program; maintaining student data; and working with students who may display aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior. Must be physically working in the building. Compensation
Rate of Pay: $20.00/hour to $25.30/hour DOQ with K-12 experience $21.15/hour to $26.45/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K-12 experience* $22.00/hour to $27.30/hour with BA degree from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K-12 experience Special education pay differentials: 50 cents/hour additional for center-based service; $1.00/hour additional for Two Rivers Transition Program or River Trail Learning Center Start Date
