Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center‑based settings.
Manages behavior (redirecting, calming, or removing a disruptive student from the classroom).
Monitors and records student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.).
Provides physical assistance with toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs or other devices.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Personal Care Assistant certification completed within 30 days of start date.
Completed 60 semester or 90 quarter credits, or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam. Documentation required.
Good communication, interpersonal, and record‑keeping skills.
Ability to work with technology and computers.
Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, supervise students, take direction, and maintain regular attendance.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and handle physical demands, including toileting, feeding, and self‑care procedures, and maintain a behavioral management program.
Pay Scale
$20.00 / hr to $25.30 / hr for DOQ with K‑12 experience.
$21.15 / hr to $26.45 / hr for AA / AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K‑12 experience.
$22.00 / hr to $27.30 / hr for BA degree from a regionally accredited institution, DOQ with K‑12 experience.
Additional $0.50 / hr for students receiving 50% or more of their time in center‑based settings.
Additional $1.00 / hr for students at Two Rivers Transition Program or River Trail Learning Center.
Start Date December 1, 2025.
