Provides leadership and direction to store managers, including assistance in recruiting, selection and orientation; assists with employee development and training programs; plans, monitors and appraises job results; establishes job expectations; provides coaching to develop action plans for issue resolution; administers counseling notices and initiates corrective actions. Implements non-discriminatory management practices in hiring, training, counseling, motivating and separating employees; adheres to the company operating policy of legal, ethical and moral practices. Enhances professional and technical knowledge through educational activities and professional networking; contributes to team effort by achieving Financial and Key Result Area targets and company plan guidelines. Allocates program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analyses; maintains staff by recruiting, selecting and orienting employees; maintains staff results through training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisal. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred; other combinations of job-related experience and education may be substituted. 3-5 years of retail business experience or more preferred, including a minimum of 2 years in management responsibility. Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability, strong communication skills, self-direction, self-motivation and customer service orientation. Ability to communicate in English (oral and written). Ability to supervise and train Store Managers in use of store equipment, tools and materials; supervise and manage the functions listed in the SM job description. A current valid driver’s license is required to operate a company vehicle. Physical Requirements
Sit for long periods; operate computer keyboard and mouse for data entry; view computer monitor; hear and speak via telephone; reach forward and/or overhead. Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Work Environment
