Position Title: Assistant Baseball Coach 2025-2026 | Department: Athletics | Campus Location: Escanaba | Employment Type: Part-time | FLSA/Pay Grade: Level FTE Summary

The Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for assisting with coaching and recruiting, instructing, and coordinating various program related activities. The assistant coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Bay College and the National Junior College Athletic Association. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years High School or Collegiate playing or coaching experience. Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the sports program. Strong interpersonal, communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to lead and guide student-athletes. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Valid State of Michigan driver’s license. Ability to adapt to change in processes and procedures. Enthusiastic, people oriented, a winning attitude. Passion for results. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of an Associate’s degree Prior higher education recruiting experience Knowledge of athletic recruitment, methods and techniques. Knowledge of NJCAA regulations and guidelines governing recruitment and retention of student athletes. Work Information

Months per year: 8 Hours Worked per Week: 8 Work Schedule: Seasonal Supervision Exercised: Supervises Managers and Student workers Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Head Coach and Athletic Director Work Environment: Standard to outdoor athletic environments; reasonable accommodations may be made; weather conditions may vary; noise level may be moderate to loud in equipment areas Physical Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds; travel required Equipment Used: Computer, recruiting and statistic software, tablet, stopwatch, baseballs, pitching machine, radar gun, tees, fungo bats, weights, cardio machines Travel Requirement: Frequent travel Job Duties

Teach sport skills, condition and motivate student-athletes and employ effective strategies to create a positive student experience. Assist with recruitment of new student-athletes and retain current student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA rules and regulations through scouting, attending games/tournaments, and home visits. Assist in planning, preparation and administration of practice plans and competition strategy plans. Assist with all aspects of the Norse baseball program. Represent the sports program to institutional programs and externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the community. Support the vision/mission of Bay College by contributing to student success, culture of success and community success. Support college efforts for student completion. Department Contact Information
