Job Summary
The classification of Supervisor Ramp & Passenger Services includes managing, coordinating and controlling airport activities for both Ramp Services and Passenger Service functions; monitors the quantity and quality of work performance; directing personnel within assigned functional area; overseeing and advising on staffing requirements; participating in the discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring and termination of subordinates; training subordinates, ensures compliance with Company rules and regulations, Company standards and contractual agreements; ensures budgetary controls and manning requirements.
Ramp Service Functions
loading and unloading of cargo on and off aircraft
the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft
the ramp transfers of cargo where required
the receiving, delivering, and physical handling of freight and company material
the completion of forms and messages related to and necessary for the performance of the designated locations of the functions described
Responsibilities
Perform all aspects of airport operations, including ticketing transactions, baggage check-in, issuing boarding passes, and dispatching flights in a safe and timely manner
May also be responsible for baggage service functions of filing loss, damage, and pilferage claims
Offers efficient and professional customer service and resolves passenger problems as required
Coordinates with all departments to ensure operational needs are met, including catering, fueling, and maintenance companies
Acts as company representative when assigned
Reports to work on a regular and timely basis
Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be able to work weekends, holidays and days off
Preferred Skills
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment
Ability to handle stress and work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
Work in a high noise level environment
