Director of Finance and Administration, WCHP and the Associate Provost for Interprofessional Education Office The Director of Finance and Administration serves as the lead operations administrator for the Westbrook College of Health Professions (WCHP) and the Office of the Associate Provost for Interprofessional Education, on behalf of the Dean/Associate Provost. This position combines financial acumen, operational leadership, human resources coordination, and planning expertise to support and advance the mission and goals of the College and the interprofessional operations of the University.

Responsibilities

Budgetary & Financial Management: Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of all WCHP and interprofessional budgets, including operating, capital, and special accounts.

Provide input to the Finance and Administration on institutional budget development and implementation.

Provide oversight and compliance for all salary contracts, faculty/staff personnel budgets, and compensation planning.

Offer budgetary training, guidance, and oversight to all WCHP departments, programs, and interprofessional units.

Maintain signature authority and accountability for all WCHP and interprofessional unit accounts and financial transactions.

Supply high-level support for the college and interprofessional units grants portfolio.

Administrative & Personnel Oversight: Provide leadership for all administrative operations across WCHP and the interprofessional units.

Act as WCHP and the interprofessional unit’s HR Initiator to coordinate faculty and staff personnel matters, including recruitment, evaluations, promotions, and contracts.

Ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Develop and maintain policies and procedures to effectively administer the College.

Supervise and develop administrative staff, ensuring a high-performing and inclusive work environment.

Strategic Leadership: Serve as a member of the WCHP Dean/Associate Provost’s Leadership Teams, contribute to mission-based strategies for resource allocation and program growth.

Align financial, human, and administrative resources with the College’s strategic priorities and the University’s interprofessional strategic priorities.

Lead organizational assessments, process improvements, and change management initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Support faculty and staff development in alignment with College and University goals.

Liaison & Representation: Serve as the Dean’s/Associate Provost’s liaison to central administration and represent WCHP in cross-college collaborations, task forces, and University committees as assigned.

Maintain external relationships with vendors, accreditors, and professional organizations as appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities: Foster a welcoming and inclusive culture across the College; participate in special projects and initiatives; perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related field) or CPA designation preferred.

5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, health care, or non-profit administration, with demonstrated expertise in financial management, human resources, and operations.

Proven leadership skills, including strategic planning, staff development, and change management.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, balancing complex and competing priorities.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Advanced proficiency in financial systems, budgeting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
