Overview The Senior Modern Workplace Engineer serves as a pivotal cross‑functional technical leader, responsible for empowering seamless collaboration, productivity, and mobility using Microsoft 365 workloads, unified endpoint management, and enterprise mobility solutions. This role architects and operationalizes secure, scalable solutions, integrating modern endpoint management with advanced Microsoft 365 engineering to ensure employees and clients can work effectively from any device, at any location, at any time, in line with the organization’s zero‑trust and modern workplace strategy. The engineer also focuses on user experience, operating as both a subject matter expert and strategic enabler for enterprise‑wide digital transformation.

Responsibilities

Engineer, deploy, and optimize Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams (including Teams Phone & PSTN), and other collaboration tools.

Provide consulting services to clients and internal stakeholders, guiding business process transformation using Microsoft’s productivity cloud.

Develop and maintain baseline configurations, deployment procedures, and governance guidelines for Microsoft 365 workloads to ensure consistency across environments.

Serve as Tier 4 escalation point for Microsoft 365 platform issues, providing expert troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.

Implement and maintain Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune to manage mobile devices, desktops, laptops, and IoT endpoints.

Lead the full lifecycle management of mobile and endpoint devices, including procurement, provisioning, enrollment, configuration, maintenance, patching, and decommissioning.

Design and enforce security and compliance policies for mobile and endpoint environments, including encryption, Mobile Threat Defense (MTD), conditional access, and app protection policies.

Support BYOD and COPE strategies, ensuring secure access to enterprise applications and data across iOS, Android, Windows, Chrome OS, and macOS.

Implement Zero Trust principles across device and productivity ecosystems, collaborating with cybersecurity teams to support threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Maintain adherence to regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other compliance mandates through regular audits, security testing, and continuous policy refinement.

Automate device provisioning, enrollment, patch management, and compliance enforcement through scripting (e.g., PowerShell), APIs, and MDM capabilities.

Monitor endpoint health, performance, and security posture using dashboards, analytics, and reporting tools.

Collaborate with internal IT, Service Desk, Service Delivery, and Technology Operations teams, acting as escalation owner for advanced technical tickets.

Act as a technical lead during client implementations, pilot rollouts, and system upgrades to ensure successful adoption of modern workplace and mobility solutions.

Engage with business units and end‑users to translate needs into actionable technical solutions, enhancing the digital employee experience.

Support quoting processes by providing technical scoping details, licensing requirements, and bill of materials for accurate proposals, working with sales, procurement, and vendor management teams.

Things We Are Looking For

5+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 and mobile device platforms.

Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 workloads (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Teams Phone, Power Platform, etc.).

Expertise in Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platforms such as Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro.

Strong understanding of Zero Trust security models, mobile threat defense, and endpoint compliance strategies.

Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills (VBS, command‑line/PSExec).

Familiarity with identity management, conditional access, and multi‑factor authentication.

Proficient in device platform management across Windows, Chrome OS, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android ecosystems.

Strong customer engagement skills with the ability to provide consultative guidance and technical mentorship.

Salary Estimated salary range: $100,000–$120,000 plus bonus plan eligibility, if applicable.
