Industrial Engineer, Labor Management Systems & Distribution Excellence Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. The impact you’ll make in this role: As an Industrial Engineer at a 3M distribution center, you will be integral to optimizing distribution and logistics operations. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness. You will work with teams across departments to develop and refine labor management programs, build engineered standards, streamline workflows, and support the deployment of automation technologies. You will also perform data analysis and process modeling to align operations with industry best practices and company goals. This role requires a strong foundation in industrial engineering principles, problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As an Industrial Engineer in 3M Distribution, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Support Automation Projects : Design and implement automation systems within distribution centers to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Labor Management Analysis : Develop and maintain labor management programs, including data collection, analysis and reporting to support workforce optimization.

Process Improvement Support : Identify process inefficiencies and support execution of continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction and operational excellence.

Data Collection and Reporting : Gather, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to distribution center operations to drive decision-making and improvements.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, the following qualifications are required:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in industrial/manufacturing engineering, operations research or statistics

Three (3) years of experience in a labor management program engineering labor standards within a distribution or fulfillment center in a private, public, government or military environment

Three (3) years of experience in AutoCAD or similar CAD tool

Three (3) years of experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology

Three (3) years of experience in SQL

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Distribution Automation technologies experience

Proficiency in SQL, analytics, simulation, and project management tools

Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to analyze complex systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop engineering solutions

Communication and Leadership : Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and influence decision-making. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities for cross-functional projects

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range is a good faith estimate. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including knowledge, training, skills, location, and experience.
