The Paraplanner is a key member of the planning and client service team, supporting Lead Advisors in developing comprehensive financial plans, managing client relationships, and advancing the firm’s mission of delivering an exceptional client experience. This role bridges technical expertise with relationship management, providing high-quality analysis and proactive service while continuing to develop towards full advisory responsibilities. Paraplanners at this level are expected to demonstrate growing autonomy in planning, strong understanding of the firm’s investment philosophy, and confidence in handling client-facing responsibilities with limited oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and update financial plans with limited oversight from Lead Advisor.
Model and answer broad financial questions using advanced planning tools.
Maintain and document detailed CRM records and planning notes.
Apply firm-specific modeling techniques across various software platforms (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, Nitrogen, Holistiplan).
Distill modeling results and client conversations into clear, actionable notes.
Prepare client review materials and follow up with limited direction.
Draft planning recommendations with oversight from Lead Advisor.
Maintain a strong understanding of financial markets and the current economic environment.
Apply a fundamental understanding of the firm’s investment philosophy, model portfolios, benchmarks, and NDR rules.
Demonstrate foundational knowledge of BWS/SKF’s alternative investment offerings.
Analyze outside portfolios and assist in drafting investment recommendations under guidance of the Lead Advisor.
Support and deepen client relationships with limited oversight.
Demonstrate technical understanding of each client’s financial situation and planning objectives.
Escalate client issues appropriately and propose solutions to routine challenges.
Address client questions and concerns promptly, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Conduct 401(k) rollover calls with limited supervision.
Identify outside assets and assist in the onboarding or transitioning of assets to BWS/SKF.
Collaborate with the Client Service Team (CST) to fulfill client requests efficiently.
Enter client service tickets and maintain CRM accuracy.
Support new client onboarding, ensuring a smooth and organized experience.
Mentor and train Wealth Associate I team members and interns.
Contribute to updating and improving the Associate Advisor training plan and best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.
Working toward CFP® certification.
Series 7, 63, and 65 (or equivalent) preferred or in progress.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in financial planning, client service, or wealth management.
Demonstrated proficiency with financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro), CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
