Responsibilities
Work closely with internal Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather requirements and build or deploy appropriate tools; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop pools.
Offer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the network security technical infrastructure; collaborate with different technology teams and vendors delivering complete networking solutions.
Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct system and network faults or outages; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of current industry directions and trends; work to deliver technology and products on the roadmap on schedule, with the highest quality.
Give expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last tier support for operations and support teams, including root‑cause analysis and preventative analysis.
Build configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self‑service tools; provide training and guidance to other members of the Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams.
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of recent experience supporting and engineering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments; background with CVAD architecture, components, and best practices for non‑persistent and persistent environments including Citrix Provisioning (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS) deployments and image management.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge of profile management technologies such as Ivanti UWM and FSLogix; working knowledge of Citrix XenServer and VMware ESXi; strong troubleshooting skills across Citrix and Windows OS in enterprise environments.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools for Citrix environments such as Citrix Director/Monitor, ControlUp, or similar; knowledge of Citrix Cloud/Citrix DaaS and cloud hosting platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), preferably Azure; familiarity with Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and Citrix Gateway Service as well as networking (switches, firewalls, proxy servers) to support VDI connectivity and troubleshooting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment; helpful to have scripting and automation experience (PowerShell or similar).
