The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations within the Finance Department. This position will assist with both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and has a solid understanding of the accounting cycle. This role works closely with the Controller and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial records and support month‑end close activities. Accounts Payable

Review, code, and enter vendor bills into the accounting system. Match bills with purchase orders and receipts when applicable. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly. Follow up on outstanding invoices, ensuring prompt payment. Maintain vendor records, W‑9s, and ensure compliance with company policies. Accounts Receivable

Apply and record customer payments accurately. Research and resolve short‑pays, chargebacks, and deductions. Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collections when necessary. Reconcile AR accounts and assist with month‑end reporting. General Accounting & Month‑End Close

Ensure transactions comply with accounting standards and internal controls. Maintain the general ledger. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks. Full control over company’s depreciation schedule and prepaid expense recognition. Prepare and maintain monthly accountancy of rent expenses, ROU assets, and operating leases. Oversee company’s taxation, including the creation and journalizing of monthly income tax reserves. Prepare and oversee company’s month‑end accruals. Perform other related duties as assigned. Assist with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Support the Controller during month‑end and year‑end close. Help maintain documentation for audits and internal reviews. Participate in process improvement and ERP data accuracy initiatives. Prepare regular reports on A/R and A/P status and aging. Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. At least 2 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to both AP and AR. Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP). Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially intermediate Excel. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
