Overview The Telecom Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Outside Plant (OSP) Fiber‑To‑The‑Home (FTTH) telecom construction projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The Telecom Field Supervisor acts as a liaison between contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
What You’ll Do Project Coordination
Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing telecom construction projects.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders.
Facilitate communication between internal teams, contractors, and clients.
Prepare and distribute project status reports, meeting minutes, and other project‑related documents.
Budget And Resource Management
Assist in preparing and managing project budgets.
Track project expenditures and identify potential cost‑saving opportunities.
Ensure resources are allocated efficiently to meet project objectives.
Quality Control
Ensure all construction activities comply with company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain project integrity.
Documentation And Compliance
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, and regulatory approvals.
Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
Stay up‑to‑date with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve any project‑related issues or conflicts promptly.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement necessary adjustments.
Safety Management
Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
Promote a culture of safety among all project participants.
Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in OSP/FTTH telecom construction or project coordination.
Knowledge of telecom infrastructure, construction processes, and relevant industry standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Familiarity with fiber optic and wireless communication systems.
Education
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Working Conditions
Primarily office‑based with regular site visits required.
Must be willing to travel to various project sites as needed.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Ability to navigate construction sites, including walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
